Patchwork Vintage Kantha Quilts and Quilt Bags

These quilts are from India and made from cotton sari layers. They are vintage so they can be somewhat delicate.

  • These quilts can be laundered in a washing machine in the delicate/handwash setting (cold to 30°C/86°F).

  • I like to place my quilts in a delicates bag and use a mild detergent.

  • If you’re unsure, wash by hand.

Indigo Quilts

Important: Wash Indigo quilt separately from other items! There is a strong chance for color bleed.

  • There may be some residual dye remaining in the fabric. For this reason, it is important to wash an indigo blanket separately from other items.

  • Hand washing in a tub or sink will allow you to gauge when the water runs clear signifying the dye has washed out. Even after this initial wash, use caution when washing with other items (darks) for the first few washes.

  • If you opt to launder in a washing machine, use the delicate/handwash setting (cold to 30°C/86°F).

Tea-dyed Towels

  • These 100% cotton tea towels have been dyed using spent leaves from tea sessions.

  • They can be washed in the washing machine with a mild detergent.

Color block totes

  • These cotton totes can be washed in the washing machine with like colors. Use a mild detergent.
